Allison Paige

Allison Paige Biography

What music do you listen to yourself?

I love Texas Music like Pat Green. I listen to a variety of music including country. I grew up singing karaoke. First song was "Walking After Midnight."

What was your "break" into country music?

Growing up in Refugio, a friend of my dad’s, a county judge stopped by the house and heard me sing. He asked if he could send a tape to a friend, Herbert Graham. Herbert and Chuck Howard came to hear me in person with a swing band, Rhythm of the Road, and the rest is history.

You recently shot the video for your current single, "Send A Message," what was that like?

It was a great experience! I was deeply touched by the men at Cecil Air Base. Many of them were close to my age and to think that they will be defending our country and putting their life in danger for us was very moving. I have always loved this song from the first time that I sang it. Shooting the video was more fun than I ever imagined. The costumes and scenery were spectacular and the whole crew was so nice to work with. Everyone made this one of the most memorable experiences that I have ever had.

How long did it take to shoot, where was it shot?

The video was shot in Florida at several different locations. We started at Cecil Air Base in Orange Park, Florida. We moved to Ocala for the next two days and shot in different locations. The last day was in the middle of a huge lake and I was standing on a platform in the middle of a ten-foot boat while a helicopter circled around me with the cameraman hanging out of the helicopter filming me. I found out later that the lake has alligators. I was glad that I didn’t know it at the time.

Why do you like to sing country music?

It’s about real people and that’s what I grew up listening to daily.
