Cody McCarver Cody McCarver BiographyREAL! That would be the word to describe Cody McCarver. Sincere and delivering a Southern Country musical style that will always leave you wanting more. It’s heartfelt, genuine, tough, yet warm with no apologies or regrets. Cody’s music takes listeners on a emotional roller coaster, making them smile, laugh, cry, love or want to raise Cain. In the recording of his debut album, he stuck to the idea that if he couldn’t take the listener though every human emotion, then he had failed. HE DIDN’T FAIL.
In his writing and recordings, you can hear the importance of family and small town influences. Born and raised in Dunlap, TN, a seldom heard of suburb of Chattanooga, his musical career began at age 9 playing piano in a small church. He taught himself to play multiple instruments and at age 17 was playing on the stages of local Honky Tonks. From that time, he knew exactly what he wanted to do and he set out to pursue his dream of being a singer. The school of hard knocks was his school of learning as he played for years in clubs and at fairs and festivals. He spent 2 years playing Bass guitar for the legendary Lynn Anderson and toured Coast to Coast, North to South, all over the US & Europe. As he became a road hardened touring veteran, he realized a dream when he accepted an offer to play piano with the legendary Country band Confederate Railroad. Now, as he tours the US playing countless festivals and club dates, he’s ready to realize his ultimate dream of releasing his own CD. To accomplish that, he formed an indie label, PLC Records and secured national retail distribution through Aspirion Records and Navarre Corporation.
When you listen to Cody’s debut album you will hear a voice unlike anyone else. He has picked up many musical influences along the way, but Cody has stayed true to himself and his voice. If you want to Rock he’ll Rock you, but you’ll hear Merle Haggard as well as the Allman Brothers in Cody’s stylings. Gospel, Classic Country and Southern Rock are in his blood and those influences are very evident in his music and his vocal delivery. His debut album will make you smile with songs like “Red Flag” which is a lesson for women in what to look out for in a man and “Redneck Love Gone Bad”, a total Jerry Springer episode. He’ll bring a tear to your eye with an “only the good die young” ballad, “Should’ve Been Me. Cody’s live show is wide open with lots of energy and he really can rock the house. Sure he’s learned a lot along the way from his heroes and friends, but his show is pure CODY MCCARVER. His debut album reflects a guy that is well traveled and has learned what makes a listener respond and a concert goer get out of their seat and dance. Most artists will spend a lifetime trying to learn that, but it comes easy to Cody. From the front porch to the stages of America, Cody McCarver’s music will make you come away saying WOW!
